LAKE COEUR d' ALENE

The waters of Lake Coeur d' Alene have witnessed a transformative journey through time, bearing witness to shifts in human utilization. Once a crucial resource for early mining operations, the lake's water was harnessed to aid in the extraction of precious metals. Later, during the era of logging, the lake facilitated the transportation of timber, serving as a vital conduit for the booming industry.  

In 1991, long after the mining and lumber booms, the lake gained one of its now most famous features, the Floating Green at the Coeur d' Alene Resort Golf Course, a symbol of innovation and luxury. Today, the lake's role has evolved into a focal point for recreation, drawing in boaters, anglers, golfers and outdoor enthusiasts.
